Nissa la bella

Nice, une des villes les plus belles de France!

Bonjour, je m’appelle Alexandre et je suis un membre du Freebird Club. Je vais vous parler de ma ville natale qui est Nice. (Travel Guide in French)

Adventure into the Southwest of France

Several decades ago I came to France ostensibly for two years … and over time the “hexagon”, as the French often call their country, has kept me enthralled. You just never get to the end of it!  Always something new to discover, taste and experience.

La Dolce Vita

With Venice ever more crowded, visitors are discovering the delights of Treviso writes John Stanley.

This could be the gentle introduction you need to nudge you onto the higher peaks and the Alte Vie on a return visit if you find the Dolomiti weaving their spell.

LA á la GoGoDermo!

Inspirational Freebird Club member Dermot Higgins (aka GoGoDermo) is currently mid-way through his epic journey to become both the oldest and fastest man over 50 to cycle around the world.

A journey through the South of England

The counties of southern England are recognised as a mouth-watering combination of rural tranquillity, coastal cliffs, nestled coves, forests full of intrigue, national parks, and desolate moorland – all complemented by a rich historical and cultural heritage.

Summer boasts Switzerland's nicest weather

Arrived at Zurich Airport yesterday and followed my host, Luisa's, very clear instructions: Take train S2 on Gleis (platform) 1, destination, Zieglebrucke. Go to the last stop. Sit upstairs on the left and you will get a view of Lake Zurich as you travel along.

Looking Eastwards

Well, things are certainly happening to the West of here, but my thoughts are decidedly towards the East. It is probably not the first place you will think of, but, Kazakhstan sounds like a fascinating destination.

Flying South with the Freebird Club

Hi Freebirds, I'm feeling the winter chill here in Ireland and dreaming of warmer horizons. With that in mind, I'm flying south to Australia and New Zealand and exploring the cities of some wonderful Freebird Hosts.

A Midland State of mind

Hi Freebirds, I am here, in Italy and thinking of where to go next. I am in a decidedly Midlands state of mind. First, I want to tell you about Dervla's house in Ballinamuck, Co Longford, Ireland.

Appreciating Ireland

I’ve decided to head north up to County Cavan and visit Ann in Virginia, home to Virginia Pumpkin Festival leading up to Hallowe’en. Cavan is the lake county of Ireland with myriad water pursuits available, boat hire, or if you have your own vessel, there is a marina.

Kerry, the Kingdom

Kerry is a gem, famous for culture, the Ring of Kerry, rugged coastline and spectacular scenery and football! Kerry is also home to the highest mountain range in Ireland; the Mcgillicuddy Reeks. Even the name is romantic.

A Taste of Wicklow, Wexford and Kilkenny

It's a gorgeous morning here after the first frost and I thought I'd head for a drive and explore south of Dublin. First stop for me down the coast just on the boarder of Dublin and Wicklow is Bray, in county Wicklow.
